Crewe Alexandra have handed trials to three players, including the former Coventry City youngster Ryan Lynch.
The 20-year-old left-back was released by the Sky Blues at the end of last season after failing to make a first-team appearance for the club.
A mystery Bulgarian midfielder and former The New Saints defender Greg Stones are also set to arrive at Gresty Road this week.
"Ryan has been a young professional at Coventry and, while he's mainly a left-back, he can play in one or two other positions," Crewe's assistant manager Neil Baker told the Stoke Sentinel.
"Greg's also coming to train with us and we'll have a good look at him too. But we won't mess him about and we'll decide pretty quickly what we want to do with him."
