Rix suffers shin woe

Crewe Alexandra midfielder Ben Rix could miss the start of the campaign after being forced to miss a pre-season training camp in Portugal because of shin splints.
The 24-year-old will have a scan later this week to determine the extent of the problem.
Rix told the Stoke Sentinel: "I'd have loved to have gone to Portugal, but I picked up an injury at the start of pre-season and it's stopped me from running.
"It's really irritating to miss out and, while it's not a serious injury, it's proving to be a niggly one.
"So I'm having to stay behind and work hard in an effort to catch up with the boys fitness-wise."
Midfielder Michael O'Connor has also missed the Portugal trip to have a hernia operation.
