Railwaymen miss out on Saville.

It seems Crewe have missed out on signing Southampton defender Jack Saville on loan.

20-year-old Saville played his last game for Barnet on Saturday ironically agaist the Railwaymen a game that Crewe lost 2-0.

Steve Davis had made an enquiry for the 6ft 3'' defender prior to the closure of the transfer window and had hoped to tie up a deal when the loan market reopened next week. Although today Southampton cancelled Saville's contract with immediate effect and the Camberley born defender promptly signed for Barnet.

This has become a second blow as Davis missed out on Wigan Athletic defender Jordan Mustoe who also signed for Barnet before the transfer window closed.
