No interest in listed Woodards

Crewe Alexandra right-back Danny Woodards seems certain to leave Gresty Road in January after refusing to pen a new contract with the club.

The former Exeter City defender was signed in January 2007, but was transfer-listed in the summer after refusing to sign a one-year contract extension.

First-team coach Steve Holland told The Sentinel: "The situation is pretty much dead as we've asked Danny a couple of times now if he wants to sign his contract.

"He's made it clear he wants to wait, which is why we've signed Jon Brayford.

"I think January is probably the most obvious opportunity, although we haven't had any enquiries about him since we first made him available."
