Lunt back with Alex

Crewe Alexandra are on the verge of bringing Kenny Lunt back to Gresty Road.

The 28-year-old is set to sign a one-month loan deal with Alex after dropping out of Sheffield Wednesday's first-team picture.

Crewe's midfield options have been weakened by injuries to Neil Cox (shoulder) and Ben Rix (hip) and first-team coach Steve Holland has opted to bring former captain Lunt back to the club.

Lunt made 428 appearances for Alex after coming through the club's youth team ranks before joining the Owls on a Bosman free transfer in the summer of 2006.

He has made 48 appearances for the Championship side but has failed to start a game for Brian Laws' outfit since September 2007.
