Jones seeks to get back on track

Crewe Alexandra forward Steve Jones is hoping that the televised clash with West Brom will be the perfect stage to get back on the goal trail.

The 27-year-old has gone seven games without a goal, but helped the Railwaymen to win at Wigan last time out and gain a draw at Derby in their previous game.

He told The Sentinel: "The goals have dried up and I think I've used up a big slice of luck so far this season.

"I think I'm trying too hard at the moment to get that next goal.

"The last month has been tough for me and for the team as we've not got the results.

"But we're creating chances and the four points we've got from the games at Derby and Wigan is a great return and a real boost for us."
