Crewe Alexandra striker Steve Jones remains hopeful of resolving his future with the club and is currently awaiting contract negotiations.
The Northern Ireland international has been the subject of speculation after reports claimed he has already snubbed the offer of new deal.
Jones is due to fall out of contract at the end of the season and was the subject of an enquiry by Preston North End last month.
He said: "Hopefully something can be sorted out with Crewe, but who knows?
"Crewe have offered me a contract but we haven't really sat down and talked about it yet.
"I'm contracted to Crewe at the moment and it is my job to score goals for them."
