Crewe Alexandra could be forced to continue their battle against the drop without striker Steve Jones after he aggravated a hamstring injury during the 1-1 draw against Gillingham.
The Northern Ireland international had to be replaced at half-time at Priestfield and Alex boss Dario Gradi fears he could miss the final three games of the season.
"Steve had a slight hamstring pull and couldn't continue," Gradi told the club's official website.
"If it has gone completely then he will be lucky to play again this season, but we are hoping that it is not that bad.
"He remains a big doubt for the Stoke game on Saturday, but we will have to see how he goes this week.
"To be honest it doesn't look too encouraging at the moment, but he is usually a quick healer."
