Crewe Alexandra boss Gudjon Thordarson has admitted that there is much hard work to do following the club's relegation to League Two.
The Icelander saw his side drop out of League One on the final day of the season, but is clear that he wants the chance to start the rebuilding process.
He told the Crewe Chronicle: "The plan is to stay here, build for next season and get promotion back to League One. It will be tough but that is the plan.
"I'm ready to take on the challenge next season, but there have got to be a lot of changes if people want success back here. We need to improve, both on and off the pitch.
"It's a massive task but I know what I want to do. I know I can do it, I just need the ammunition to do it with.
"The players need to understand the hard work which will be needed to get out of the league below."
