Crewe Alexandra chairman John Bowler will give first-team coach Steve Holland the financial backing to improve his squad this summer.
Alex only just avoided relegation to League Two in Holland's first season in charge at Gresty Road following Dario Gradi's 24-year stint as manager.
Bowler believes Holland is the right man for the job though, saying: "It's up to us to get Steve better tools to work with and that will be the objective over the summer.
"Steve has great potential and I think the way he handled himself last season was commendable, because it wasn't easy with all the injury problems he had to deal with.
"He's a strong character, who bleeds from the inside. He's more disappointed than anyone with the way things turned out, but he'll have learned a hell of a lot and will be better for the experience."
