Holland hopes for Grant boost

Crewe Alexandra's first-team coach Steve Holland hopes that Joel Grant will be able to return to action this weekend and hand a boost to his struggling side.

The 21-year-old former Aldershot Town winger has missed the last two games with a hamstring strain, but is expected to feature against Colchester United on Saturday.

Holland told Alex's official website: "We're hopeful that Joel will return to action without any reaction or discomfort and declare himself fit and available for the weekend.

"It would give us a boost because the wingers looked exciting in the first few games and we were looking likely going forward. They were given us some real pace in attack and carry a threat."
