Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Holland is prepared to allow midfielder Ben Rix to leave the club on loan. The 25-year-old is the Railwaymen's longest-serving players, but is currently in the final year of his contract at Gresty Road. Holland told the club's official website: "I am more than happy for Ben to stay here, but I also understand that he wants to play. "He's in the last year of his contract here and his chances have become limited in the centre due to the form of Michael O'Connor and James Bailey. "They have cemented their place in the midfield and Mark Carrington has earned his opportunity to be the next one to go in." Rix has made more than 150 appearances for the Alex to date, having also been on loan at Bournemouth and Scarborough.
