Hamstrung Zola facing spell out

Zola was forced off after only two minutes of Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Spotland and the 16-goal forward has been ruled out of the trip to Burton at the weekend. "Calvin has strained his hamstring rather than suffered a tear which will mean he will recover sooner, but I am certainly planning without him for Friday night," said Crewe caretaker boss Dario Gradi. "Even if he were to come to me and declare that he was fit to play, I wouldn't risk him. It happened very early in the game and you have to consider whether he would break down again. "I couldn't contemplate going with him so I will have to decide over the next few days who we go with up there."
