Green makes Alex switch

Blackpool midfielder Stuart Green has joined Crewe Alexandra on an emergency loan deal.

The 27-year-old former Hull City player, who will remain at Gresty Road until December 21, is expected to make his debut for Steve Holland's side in Saturday's League One clash with Leyton Orient.

Green began his career at Newcastle United but failed to make a first-team appearance for the club and joined Hull, initially on loan, in 2002.

He scored 26 goals in 146 matches for the Tigers before following Peter Taylor to Crystal Palace in August 2006 in a £75,000 deal.

He spent 18 months with the Eagles before joining Blackpool in February 2008 but has struggled to impress at Bloomfield Road, starting only one game for the Seasiders.
