Gradi reveals Jones interest

Crewe boss Dario Gradi has revealed that Stoke City tabled a bid for Billy Jones in the January transfer window and he expects the highly-rated teenager to leave Gresty Road in the summer.

Jones, 19, is out of contract at the end of the season and has rejected the opportunity to extend his deal at the League One club.

"Stoke made an enquiry about Billy in January but we were not particularly interested in selling him during the window," Gradi told the club's official website.

"Stoke are interested but there are a number of clubs watching him.

"Some of those are Premiership clubs, so it'll be interesting to see what materialises when the season ends."
