Crewe Alexandra boss Dario Gradi is preparing himself for the departure of midfielder Kenny Lunt, but believes that a move might be in both parties' best interests.
The 25-year-old is a reported target for Leeds United and Gradi says any cash raised will be used wisely.
He told The Sentinel: "He wants to go and I do not disagree with him, so I am resigned to him going.
"The fee we would get should pay for the Academy for a year and that will justify the money we spend on the Academy.
"I would also think it would be good for him to push on with his career, but if no-one comes in for him it might give him the jolt he needs to knuckle down.
"I also think we would be fine without him. We have the players at the club who could come in and take his place."
