Gradi hails Alex supporters

Caretaker Crewe Alexandra boss Dario Gradi paid tribute to his club's hardy band of supporters, after the Railwaymen won 2-0 at Carlisle United in the second round of the FA Cup.

An early Shaun Miller double gave the Alex a morale-boosting victory at Brunton Park and set up a third round clash with Millwall.

Afterwards, Gradi thanked the support of a 50-strong group of Alex fans who made the tricky trip to Cumbria.

He said: "They are the really true supporters.

"What a night to come all the way here when we've not won an away game all season and we gave them something to shout about too.

"There was a great feeling in the dressing room, not just for the boys, but for the supporters who have come all the way here too."
