Crewe Alexandra boss Dario Gradi expects Steve Foster to be at the club next season, but only because he is currently sidelined by a knee injury.
The 24-year-old has discussed a possible transfer with Gradi but the long-serving manager believes clubs will not be willing to take a risk on a player who is recovering from knee surgery.
"I have the same agreement with Kenny as I do with Steve Foster, but he's not going to be fit," he told The Sentinel.
"So unless someone is going to sign him without being fit he should be here."
Foster, who has made more than 170 league appearances for the Railwaymen, hopes to be fit to return by the time pre-season training begins on June 30.
