Gradi: We deserved a point
Boss Dario Gradi felt Crewe could have earned a point at Torquay, despite a dismal first-half performance. The Alex made the worst possible start as they went 2-0 down after 16 minutes as Eunan O'Kane and Chris Zebroski struck.Rhys Taylor kept Crewe in contention but a second-half rally, which saw Danny Shelley score with a superb free-kick, proved in vain as Gradi`s side lost 2-1 to end their five-match unbeaten run."We created enough chances to have scored an equaliser in the end," said Gradi. "When we were 2-0 down it looked as though we might get a hiding. But we rallied at half-time and realised we had to do better on the ball, which we did. Torquay didn't threaten in the second half at all, it was a game of two halves."Gradi refused to blame a punishing fixture list - it was Crewe's fourth game of 2011 - for his side's tame first-half showing. He added: "It was no different to them because they have played games in the past week, and we did much better in the second half."
