Crewe Alexandra midfielder Michael O'Connor has been disciplined by the club following a weekend incident.

The Northern Ireland international was dropped for the 4-0 victory at Brighton by Alex boss Gudjon Thordarson, who is refusing to elaborate on the indiscretion.

He told The Sentinel: "An incident took place and I dealt with Michael in my own way, so he won't be under consideration for the Carlisle game.

"I have to consider whatever comes up and deal with it how I want to."
