Crewe Alexandra boss Gudjon Thordarson has challenged striker Anthony Elding to impress following his return form a three-month loan spell at Lincoln City.

The 26-year-old scored three times in 15 games for the Red Imps, having netted three goals in 19 appearances for the Alex since his arrival from Leeds United.

Thordarson told the club's official website: "Anthony is back with us after his loan spell and he had his first session yesterday.

"He will be out there again today, so we will see how he looks before deciding on the squad for the weekend.

"I will have no worries about putting him into the squad because he has the ability. He will commit himself to the cause and we will see how he shapes up."
