Crewe rocked by Lunt loss

Crewe Alexandra have lost the services of loan midfielder Kenny Lunt after he was forced to undergo surgery on a double hernia.

The 29-year-old had returned to Gresty Road from Sheffield Wednesday last month, but the Railwaymen will have to seek an extension to Lunt's loan deal if he is to feature again.

The experienced schemer is expected to be sidelined for at least a month.

Meanwhile, Alex assistant manager Neil Baker has dismissed rumours of the club trying to re-sign forward Ryan Lowe from Chester City.

He told The Sentinel: "It hasn't been discussed and I have no knowledge about it.

"Ryan left on a free transfer in the summer and since then we've brought other strikers in, so it doesn't make sense that we should bring him back."
