Crewe hold Donaldson talks

Crewe Alexandra are hoping to sign Hibernian striker Clayton Donaldson in a bid to kick-start their League One season. The Railwaymen are currently bottom of the table after losing their opening two league games and are seeking a replacement for Nicky Maynard following the striker's move to Bristol City. Donaldson has struggled to break into the Hibs side following his move from York City last summer. "We've spoken to Clayton about his football and the personal terms," revealed first-team coach Steve Holland. "That meeting went very well from our point of you and he seems very optimistic about the opportunity."
