Content Pope commits to Alex

Crewe Alexandra striker Tom Pope has pledged his future to the League One strugglers by penning a two-year extension to his current Gresty Road contract.

The 23-year-old, who has scored 12 goals in 47 appearances for the club, is pleased with the new agreement that will see him stay with Steve Holland's side until the end of the 2010-11 campaign.

Pope told Alex's official website: "I want to stay here because Crewe is a great club and I'm learning something every day and I feel I'm improving all the time.

"Crewe have brought me this far and I see no reason why I can't go further with them."
