Brayford unaffected by rumours

Crewe Alexandra's in-demand defender John Brayford insists he knows nothing about a possible summer switch to Derby County.

The former Burton Albion star has been linked with a transfer to Pride Park where he would be reunited with former Brewers boss Nigel Clough.

However, he told Alex's official website: "Dealing with speculation is part and parcel of football and you just have to deal with it.

"I don't know anything and I'd be one of the first to know if there was anything in the pipeline. If I don't know then I'm not sure why others know.

"I've heard nothing and I'm focussed on my job at Crewe. They were the ones that took a chance on me when I was a non-league player and I want to thank them for that.

"My aim is get as fit as I can and make sure that Crewe are challenging for promotion."
