Barnard returns to Alex
10 Dec 2007 - 13:02:15
Crewe Alexandra are set to be boosted by the return to the club of loan striker Lee Barnard after injury.
The 23-year-old suffered ankle ligament damage against Luton Town in late October, but is back in training with his parent club Tottenham Hotspur and could make an unexpected return to Gresty Road.
Alex's first-team coach Steve Holland told The Sentinel: "Lee has kept in regular touch with me. He has been at Tottenham more or less exclusively since his injury at Luton.
"He told me he has trained at Tottenham this week, albeit only a couple of days.
"His loan expires in January and, at one stage, it looked unlikely that he would reappear.
"He's a good lad and is keen do well. It will be good to have another quality striker on board."
