Alex to offload starlet

Crewe will look to sell highly-rated teenage defender Billy Jones during the January transfer window following his decision to snub their latest lucrative new contract offer.
The Alex board have done all they can to ensure the 19-year-old stays at Gresty Road, but it appears he has his heart set on a move and the club are looking to try and obtain as much money as possible for his signature.
Crewe will still receive compensation for Jones from any potential suitor because he is under 23 years of age, but boss Dario Gradi confirmed they will look to offload him in the New Year to try and secure a larger fee.
He told the club's website: "The board met yesterday to discuss the situation will Billy.
"The club have come to the decision that his availability will be circulated to make clubs aware of the situation.
"It is somewhat out of our hands now and we have not heard anymore from him. I'm sure there are people watching him but we have not received an offer for him.
"The board also discussed what sort of fee we could expect to get for him during the January transfer window and I'm sure Billy and his advisors are aware of the situation we are both in."
