Alex swoop for Broomes

Crewe Alexandra have signed Blackpool central defender Marlon Broomes on a month's loan.

The 31-year-old former Blackburn Rovers and Preston North End stopper has made just one appearance for the Seasiders since joining from Stoke City at the start of the season.

Alex's assistant manager Neil Baker told the club's official website: "We are delighted to have signed Marlon here for a month.

"He does have a lot of experience behind him and can slot in at left-back if we need him to as well.

"Marlon was obviously at Stoke a few years ago and had a few injuries then, but he is over them now and is a good addition to our squad and will hopefully do the job for us."
