Iceland Under-21 international Gylfi Sigurdsson has agreed to extend his loan stay with Crewe Alexandra until the end of the season.
Sigurdsson has scored once in six appearances for Alex during his initial one-month loan switch from Reading.
The midfielder is delighted with the extension, saying: "The most important thing for me in coming here was to get games under my belt and, with Crewe playing three games a week at this time, it couldn't have worked out better for me.
"Back in the reserves at Reading, I'd have been playing perhaps once every two weeks, which isn't enough really.
"Hopefully I can play some more games here and then go back to Reading in the summer and push for a first-team place."
