Crewe Alexandra have agreed a fee with Liverpool for former on-loan defender Danny O'Donnell.

O'Donnell, 21, made 31 appearances for the Railwaymen last season and is expected to complete a permanent move back to Gresty Road.

"We're delighted to have reached an agreement with Liverpool," Crewe boss Dario Gradi told the club's official website.

"He's keen to come here and he knows what we're willing to pay, so I think him signing will just be a formality.

"Danny is a great lad, an honest lad and I don't think for one second that he'll change his mind."
