Chris McCready is keen to resurrect his career with a second spell at Crewe Alexandra after completing his transfer from Tranmere Rovers to Gresty Road.
The 25-year-old has penned a two-year deal with Alex after being a regular with Tranmere in the 2006-07 campaign.
He told Crewe's official website: "I'd known for a couple of weeks that Crewe were interested in me coming back and I'm delighted. I made my mind up pretty quickly and can't wait to settle back into it.
"I suppose it's a bit of surprise because, when I left for Tranmere for a new challenge, I thought that the chapter on my career at Crewe would be closed.
"It's strange how things can sometimes happen in football and I'm pleased to be back."
