Alex keen to keep Thordarson

Gudjon Thordarson seems certain to still be Crewe Alexandra's manager next season after guiding the club to seven wins from 11 matches since he arrived at Gresty Road.

Chairman John Bowler is keen to tie the Icelandic manager to a long-term contract and is already making plans for next season.

Bowler told The Sentinel: "Gudjon and I are working closely together and planning a long-term future for the club. There are a lot of constructive discussions.

"Clearly he's doing well and we're now looking at what we're going to do next season.

Meanwhile, Blackpool have recalled Marlon Broomes from his loan spell at Gresty Road.
