Alex face Livermore wait
23 Jul 2008 - 12:18:03
Loanee Jake Livermore could miss the start of Crewe Alexandra's League One season after suffering severe bruising of his ankle in the pre-season clash with Wrexham.
The 18-year-olld Tottenham midfielder, who had a brief loan spell with MK Dons in March, had to be taken to hospital after the game but the bruising was so severe that an X-ray was inconclusive.
Physio Steve Walker told Alex's official website: "Jake took a severe blow on his ankle and suffered extensive bruising.
"We took him back to Crewe straightaway, but the swelling was so excessive the extent of the damage could not be realised.
"We're hopeful that he'll be able to have an X-ray at some stage on Wednesday and it would be wrong to speculate at this stage."
