Crewe Alexandra have released four players following the conclusion to their League One campaign.
The Railwaymen survived relegation by the skin of their teeth despite being thrashed 4-1 at home by Oldham Athletic on Saturday.
But first-team coach Steve Holland has already started to shape his squad for next season after confirming defenders Matt Bailey and Ryan Lynch will not be offered new deals and are free to leave.
Forwards Junior Brown and Nick Farquharson have also been told they are free to leave Gresty Road following the end of their contracts.
Meanwhile, Holland has handed a contract to academy graduate James Bailey.
The teenage midfielder made two substitute appearances for the first team in recent weeks and has signed a one-year contract.
"We're looking to slim down the first-team squad but it's important that we have a little development group under that which James will fall into it," Holland told the club's official website.
"He's made progress this year and now it's up to him to go on again and compete for a place in the squad."
