Michael Higdon joined Crewe as a teenager and has worked his way through the youth teams. He scored freely with the reserves and got his chance against Wigan in December 2003 for his debut. He has converted from a midfielder into a Strike since first making thkthrough into the team. Higdon is used mostly as a reserve and subsitute, making only 1 start last season but 19 sub appearances. He is hoping to establish himself more regularly this season in the team and he has been starting more frequently in 2005/06.
