Luke Rodgers started his career as a teenager with Shrewsbury and spent 8 years there, making over 200 appearances and scoring 73 goals. He was selected for the England Semi Pro team in 2003 and helped Shrewsbury to promotion that year. Rodgers rejected a new contract at Shewsbury in the Summer of 2005 and joined Crewe on a trial before making his move permanent.
