Eddie Johnson started his career in the Crewe youth teams, but he joined Man Utd as a 14-year-old, he helped The Man Utd youth team to win the FA Youth Cup in 2003 but he was loaned out to the clubs Belgian Feeder Club Royal Antwerp to gain more experience. He spent the whole of last season on loan at Covenrty City, scoring 5 goals in 26 appearances and he was loaned back to his first club - Crewe in the Summer of 2005 until Christmas with the option of extending until the end of the season.
