Zola to sit out

Crewe will be without striker Calvin Zola when they play host to Barnet. The Congolese striker tweaked his knee in training on Monday and will not be risked, although the club are hopeful he will be able to feature in Tuesday's Carling Cup tie against Ipswich. Byron Moore is likely to take Zola's place in Crewe's front three alongside Shaun Miller and Clayton Donaldson. Teenage midfielder Nick Powell is expected to be among the substitutes once again after making his first senior appearance in last weekend's 3-2 defeat at Cheltenham. Powell, 16, became Crewe's second youngest debutant when he came on at Whaddon Road and will hope to be involved once more this weekend. Defender Carl Martin (shin) and goalkeeper Steve Phillips (shoulder) remain on the sidelines.
