Wanderers encounter already in danger

Saturday`s League Two clash between Crewe and Wycombe is already in doubt due to the freezing conditions. The Gresty Road pitch has been covered by protective sheets but the frost is already in the ground, and with temperatures unlikely to rise much above freezing point, a pitch inspection has been called for 12 noon on Friday. Wycombe secretary Keith Allan told Wanderers` official website: "At this stage, the prospects of us playing on Saturday look remote. "There is frost in the ground, snow lying on top of the pitch covers and more frost is anticipated, including Friday night. "They are having a pitch inspection at lunchtime on Friday and they expect the game will be postponed."
