A number of trialists are set to feature tonight as Crewe split their squad in to two teams taking on Rhyl and Congleton Town. Crewe look set to give a run out to a few trialists as the Railwaymen embark on their pre-season with games at Rhyl and Congleton Town. Dario Gradi will preside over the team at Booth Street where Byron Moore, AJ Leith-Smith and Shaun Miller will head a strong attack. While Steve Davis will over see the other Crewe XI at Rhyl who play in the Huw Gray Alliance league of Wales where Dave Artrell, Matt Tootle and Luke Murphy are expected to play. Crewe will be giving a run out to a few trialists who have been in training at Reaseheath over the last few weeks as they look to impress and earn a contract at the club.  These include Rhos Aelwyd pair Mike Burke (Striker) and Steve Powell (Midfielder) both players come highly recommended from former Crewe player Steve Walters who is manager of the club. 23 year-old Burke was top scorer for Rhos Aelwyd and has already had a run out for Bangor City the other week in a friendly over Rhyl. While Powell is a highly rated young midfielder who sgined from Rhos in 2009. 22 year-old Alan Martin who has performed well in training will be looking to impress between the sticks. Keeper Martin came through the Motherwell youth system and signed for Leeds United in 2007 he had loan spells at Barrow and Accrington Stanley but failed to feature for Leeds. His contract was cancelled in January 2011 and went back north of the border by signing for Division Two side Ayr United. At the end of the season Martin declined an offer to stay stating that he wanted to get back to full time football.  27-year-old Josh Gowling will also be looking to impress after his release from League Two rivals Gillingham. Gowling has been in training with the Railwaymen for the last two weeks and will be hoping to secure a contract in South Cheshire. Gowling started his career with West Bromwich Albion and has played for Danish side Herfolge, Bournemouth, Carlisle United, Hereford United and Lincoln City. 22-year old defender Curtis Haynes-Brown is also on trial at the club the former Lowestoft player came through the ranks at Colchester United as a youngster and can play either in the centre of defence or at left-back.
