Timlin wants to stay

On-loan midfielder Michael Timlin has revealed he is keen to stay at Southend beyond his current one-month loan. The 25-year-old is set to return to parent club Swindon after Saturday's clash with Crewe, but has admitted he is hoping to remain at Roots Hall. "The gaffer has given me his views about it and he knows how I feel," he told the club's official website. "He wants me to stay if it can be sorted out and I would jump at the chance as I think it will benefit me more by staying here and playing rather than going back to Swindon. "I feel a little more at home here as I am from London and I already knew some of the players. "I have settled in really well and feel I am part of something as we work towards getting back into League One."
