Thordarson tells Razak to work hard

Thordarson is still assessing the potential of the former Swindon striker after he scored two goals in 30 minutes in a pre-season friendly win at non-league neighbours Newcastle Town on Sunday. The Frenchman is still training with Alex and is expected to be involved in the club's next pre-season fixture at home to Wigan in a week's time. "I was pleased with Hamdi at Newcastle. He did himself justice in the half-an-hour he was on. He took his two goals well and he was close to getting a hat-trick so it was a decent run-out for him," Thordarson told the club's official website. "He is a genuine lad and he wants to earn himself a contract. We are assessing his situation and he has to continue to work hard out on the training pitch and show us what he has because I am not particularly looking for another forward. "As I have said, though, if a good player is available and he is willing to come here for what we can afford to pay him then we have got to take a look."
