Thordarson: Clubs now have power

Due to the current financial climate, clubs across the country are being forced to trim their squads, resulting in a larger pool of free agents willing to take significant wage cuts in order to secure a deal with a new club. And, because of the current climate of the market, The Alex boss has declared the club will not be held to ransom by any player in contract negotiations this summer. "It is not always possible to offer players what they think they are worth," Thordarson told the club's official website. "Things should be changing with that because there are a lot of options out there and players could be finding themselves out of work. "I have some empty pockets in my squad that I need to fill with good players and I will continue to find the best I can that is available to us. I won't mess around nor will I mess around with the budget that I have to work with."
