The attacking pair formed part of Alex's £800,000 spending spree last summer and both struggled to make an impact in their first season at Gresty Road. Elding started well with three goals in the first month of the last campaign, but his form tailed off and he spent three months on loan at Lincoln. Grant also found it difficult to nail down a regular first-team berth, but Thordarson believes there is more to come from them. "Some of the players the club brought in last summer still have to prove what they are capable of doing and it will be a big test for them. I honestly think that some of them have got more in their locker," said Thordarson. "Hopefully we will see them reborn and getting stronger and healthier and hopefully they will improve their desire to go out and win games."
