The promising 18-year-old midfielder burst on to the scene at the turn of the year with a goal and an assist in his first three starts for the club and was rewarded with a three-year contract.[LNB]He last featured in the first-team against Tranmere at the end of January and has suffered with back-related problems ever since.[LNB]However, Shelley played 65 minutes as an Alex second string won 3-2 at Chester on Wednesday courtesy of goals from Clayton Donaldson, Kelvin Mellor and Alex Titchiner.[LNB]"It is good news because it is the first time Danny has been involved this season. He's had all kinds of problems related to his old injury when he hurt his back," said Crewe boss Gudjon Thordarson.[LNB]"It ended up with him not having the right balance in his hips and other injuries were flaring up as a result of that. But he is fit again and it will be nice to have another name in my squad because it is a small one."[LNB][LNB]
