Football League newcomers Crawley are interested in signing Crewe striker Clayton Donaldson. The ambitious West Sussex side have been tracking Donaldson, who finished the season as the top scorer in League Two with 28 goals. Donaldson`s future at Gresty Road is uncertain as he is out of contract in the summer and has been offered a new deal but he has yet to sign. Crawley manager Steve Evans has admitted he is keen to sign the former Hibernian and York striker but he expects plenty of competition for his signature. "He is a player we like," Evans told the Kent and Sussex Courier. "We have been tracking him, but to be fair there will be a lot of clubs who want him as he is a top striker who has proved himself this season."
