Railwaymen boss slams referee

Shakers skipper Stephen Dawson scored an 86th-minute winner from the penalty spot to condemn the Gresty Road club to their fourth successive defeat. Alex's Harry Worley had cancelled out Tom Elliott's opener before former Crewe forward Ryan Lowe put the visitors back in front. Calvin Zola thought he had grabbed a share of the points until Billy Jones saw red for bringing down Dawson, who netted the resulting spot-kick. Thordarson's side were denied a good shout for a first-half penalty themselves and things got worse when referee Foster needlessly sent off Patrick Ada in the dying seconds for an innocuous challenge on Elliott. "My players made a lot of mistakes out there but that referee wasn't fit for the job," fumed the Icelander. "I want to see the assessor's report because the second sending off was wrong and I am fed up with the standard of refereeing, they can improve. "Losing two players with red cards is going to be a big blow for us and we will appeal Patrick's red card."
