However, the Icelander is content to persist with just Adam Legzdins and Collis for the time being. Legzdins kept a clean sheet on his league debut for Alex at the weekend after replacing loan signing David Button, who was recalled by Tottenham following an injury to Heurelho Gomes. Following Button's arrival at Gresty Road Collis was made available for transfer but any possible move has now been put on hold. "I am assessing the situation with the goalkeepers because we are currently going with just two. I would much prefer to be on the safer side of things," Thordarson told the club's official website. "I wanted to add another goalkeeper before the season started and we managed to do that by taking David Button on loan from Tottenham, but the situation has changed there and it has made things more difficult. "Taking him back isn't dead but we still don't know how long Tottenham need him for. Steve (Collis) will stay with us because the situation has changed. We have two goalkeepers in house and it isn't viable to let him go out at the moment."
