The cash-strapped Cherries look like having just 13 available professionals for Saturday's game at Gresty Road.
Gradi said: "Bournemouth are doing very well. They are playing above their position because they are still in trouble financially and they are down on numbers. I believe he (Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe) is having to play some of his kids.
"I can't believe Bournemouth's kids are going to be better than our kids. Maybe he has a good crop but we have a record for producing good players which Bournemouth can't match.
"But it will still be a tough game. I know they won't lie down and die for us - we'll have to do some work."
