Pope eyes return against Rovers
The forward has missed the last four games with the problem, which was picked up prior to the trip to Brighton, and is set to miss Saturday's match at Colchester.
"The specialist said three weeks but I am hoping to train later this week or earlier next week," Pope, Alex's leading scoring with eight goals this term, told the club's official website.
"I feel as though I am a week ahead of schedule and that is because of the work I've been putting in.
"It is a long shot but I am going to train at the weekend and if I don't suffer any reaction then I would make myself available for selection.
"Calvin (Zola) and the other forwards have done well for the team and I don't expect to walk straight back in but I want to get back into the team as soon as I can."
